Collaborative Governance Group

The Collaborative Governance Group (CGG brings together a diverse mix of community members and Aboriginal leaders, all with an equal voice at the table. Together, we stay grounded, inclusive, and accountable as we work for long-term social change. 

The CGG is one of three key parts of HUM’s structure, alongside the Yarning group and the Backbone Team. Our shared governance model was co-designed with the community because traditional governance doesn’t always fit community-led work.

Key Role of CGG

Guide the strategic direction of Hands Up Mallee in line with the community aspiration of “a connected community, where families matter and children thrive.”
Advocate and champion to influence systems change
Commit to acknowledging and disrupting colonial structures that continue to have a negative impact on Aboriginal people and communities
Balance community voice, research and data in decision making about strategic direction and actions
Make sure that community needs, views and wants are central to decision making and actively seek inputs as CGG members
Ensure the Backbone Team’s work is in alignment with the community aspiration.

Collaborative Governance Group Charter 

The Charter outlines the roles, responsibilities, authorities, and behaviour of the Hands Up Mallee Collaborative Governance Group. This charter is a living document and will be reviewed annually and updated to reflect any changes in practice as agreed by the group.
