Rowena grew up on a citrus property locally, with parents who were heavily involved in community activities. This upbringing helped shape her understanding of the importance of contribution and community spirit.
Working in health, Rowena is passionate about supporting parents and carers and recognises disparities in resources for families. Being part of HUM has deepened her understanding of the region and increased her respect for local solutions. She values the cultural learning gained through time on Country and the wisdom shared by local Elders, which has further reinforced her belief in centring community voices.
